Feminist Germaine Greer sparks new uproar with ‘career rapees’
comment

Germaine Greer addressed her
previous controversial remarks on the
#MeToo movement — and in doing so
reignited a controversy that has
resulted in another strong backlash. Greer
said that speaking out years
after an attack is "pointless" and that those
who do so risk becoming
"career rapees."
She also cautioned about the
damaging implications that making public
accusations could have on the lives
of the very women who level the
allegations.
"The amount of legal
muscle that will be used to defend these people is
massive and I’m concerned
for damage limitation rather than maximisation
rather than wrecking people’s
lives, so they become career rapees as it
were," said Greer, citing the
difficulties Harvey Weinstein’s former
assistant Zelda Perkins
faced.
Speaking with Mishal Husain on BBC Radio 4’s Today, Greer built on
past
comments in which she said that Harvey Weinstein’s victims "spread
[their] legs" in return for movie roles by suggesting that they and
others who accepted financial settlements from powerful men were
"dishonorable" for having done so.
"Some of whom have been paid six
figure sums in the form of
non-disclosure agreements," she added. "That’s a
dishonorable thing to
accept and it’s not something you should boast
about."
Greer further condemned the #MeToo movement itself, saying that
she
didn’t believe it had "gone too far" because it hadn’t actually "got
anywhere at all."
"What we need is to sort out the law regarding rape
and to sort out our
concept of what it is," she said. "It’s pointless now
bringing up this
stuff when most of it no action can be taken."
Greer
wasn’t finished criticizing the #MeToo movement, and scolded women
who dared
to speak up about an attack after remaining silent for years.
"Why wait
20 years?" she asked. "I wouldn’t have been sitting around
being quiet and
keeping a secret." Greer’s remarks sparked considerable
backlash, with many
focusing on her use of the phrase "career rapees" as
a form of victim
blaming, though not everyone responded with outrage.

Feminist icon Germaine Greer sparks uproar with comments on

victims, #MeToo movement
WITW STAFF01.26.18
Famed
second-wave feminist Germaine Greer is under fire once more after
claiming
that Harvey Weinstein’s victims "spread [their] legs" in return
for movie
roles and then started "whingeing" about it. Greer, 78, made
the
controversial remarks in an interview with The Canberra Times
shortly before
she was named Australian of the Year during a gala event
in London. She
added that she was disappointed in French actress
Catherine Deneuve — not
because of Deneuve’s claim that the #MeToo
movement was a puritanical "witch
hunt" and that men should be "free to
hit on" women in the workplace, but
rather because the famous French
actress had apologized for appearing to
endorse harassment in her remarks.
"What makes it different is when the
man has economic power, as Harvey
Weinstein has," Greer said in the
interview. "But if you spread your
legs because he said ‘be nice to me and
I’ll give you a job in a movie,’
then I’m afraid that’s tantamount to
consent, and it’s too late now to
start whingeing about that."
Greer
also questioned the point of the #MeToo movement, dismissed Dylan
Farrow’s
claims that Woody Allen molested her when she was seven, and
put forth a
complicated argument in which she suggested that rape be
dropped as a crime
and be replaced with "a coherent law of sexual
assault." She also claimed
that in her day women "weren’t afraid of
[men] and we weren’t afraid to slap
[men] down."
In the wake of the explosive interview, feminists on social
media
expressed disappointment and anger with Greer, and questioned both her
apparent victim shaming as well as her assertion that women used to
simply "slap down" men who were assaulting or harassing them.

YouTube has stopped conservative pundit Steven Crowder from running
ads
on his YouTube channel after a tweet thread from Vox host Carlos Maza
outlined several instances of Crowder using homophobic
language.
YouTube’s decision to suspend monetization comes just one day
after the
company stated it wouldn’t remove Crowder’s
channel.
(Disclosure: Vox is a publication of Vox Media, which also owns
The

YouTube’s decision to suspend monetization also
coincides with new
measures being introduced to tackle hate speech on the
platform. The new
policy will lead to the removal of thousands of channels,
as well as the
suspension of ads on channels that "repeatedly brush up
against our hate
speech policies." Crowder’s demonetization doesn’t appear
to be related
to those updates, however, with YouTube pointing instead to an
older
policy about making the platform look bad.
Update June 5th,

Update June 5th 4:20PM ET: YouTube issued another update via

Biological male transgender wins
female track championship
A transgender woman has won the NCAA women’s
track championship over the
weekend.
Cece Telfer, a biological male,
won the women’s 400 meter hurdles on
Saturday night and beat the second
place competitor by over a second.
Thegatewaypundit.com reports: The
coach praised Cece Telfer for being
the first student-athlete in Franklin
Pierce history to collect an
individual national title.
"It was tough
conditions out here with the wind and the heat over the
last three days but,
as she has over the last six months, CeCe proved
herself to be tough enough
to handle it," head coach Zach Emerson said.
"Today was a microcosm of
her entire season; she was not going to let
anything slow her down. I’ve
never met anybody as strong as her mentally
in my entire life," Emerson
said.
The NCAA boasts of its "inclusion of transgender student-athletes"
because they believe in and are committed to "diversity, inclusion and
gender equity among its student-athletes, coaches and administrators. We
seek to establish and maintain an inclusive culture that fosters
equitable participation for student-athletes and career opportunities
for coaches and administrators from diverse backgrounds."
The left is
completely destroying women’s sports.
Recall, "Rachel" McKinnon is a man
who won the women’s cycling world
championship in October of last year — all
he had to do was show up and
say he was a woman named Rachel and next thing
you know he’s the world
champion.
Two biological males have also
crushed female competitors in high school
track in Connecticut, ultimately
destroying scholarship opportunities
for young girls.
Meanwhile the
feminists are silent on this issue.
(6) Citing inclusion of LGBT clerics,
Anglican bishops in Africa to shun

Fredrick Nzwili
NAIROBI, Kenya (RNS) — As disputes over
homosexuality continue to stir
within the worldwide Anglican Communion,
conservative African bishops
say they will boycott a decennial gathering of
top clerics next summer
unless what the Africans consider godly order is
restored.
After delaying the Lambeth Conference, normally held once a
decade, for
two years, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the global
leader of
Anglicanism, has invited all active bishops and their spouses to
the
United Kingdom in July and August of 2020 — except the spouses of
bishops who are in same-sex unions.
But the African bishops object to
the invitation of bishops in the
communion who are in same-sex unions. Those
bishops’ presence, the
Africans say, constitutes an endorsement of
homosexuality, which they
reject as contrary to the Scriptures.
"I
will not be at the Lambeth Conference for those reasons. Others are
also
boycotting," Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit of Kenya told Religion
News
Service in an interview. "God’s plan of marriage is between a man
and woman
for procreation. Homosexuality is a sin before God."
Sources said
representatives from Nigeria and Uganda, two provinces of
the communion with
large populations of Anglicans, would also stay home.
Both Archbishop
Nicholas Okoh of Nigeria and Archbishop Stanley Ntagali
of Uganda strongly
oppose homosexuality as un-Christian.
Nigeria has the highest number of
Anglicans within the communion. Uganda
is third after U.K., with Sudan and
Kenya following.
Slated for summer of 2018, the Lambeth Conference was
delayed for the
first time in its 150-year history when Welby said in 2014
he intended
to visit every province before calling the conference, in hopes
that all
active bishops would attend.
His failure to avoid a boycott
by the African provinces widens the split
within the communion, which has
struggled to stay together despite
doctrinal differences over the ordination
of gays and blessing of
same-sex unions.
The Rt. Rev. Mary Glasspool,
a bishop in the Episcopal church’s Diocese
of New York, is married to Becki
Sander. On June 22, the Rev. Thomas
Brown is due to be consecrated to lead
the Diocese of Maine. He is
married to Rev. Thomas Mousin. In Canada,
suffragan Bishop Kevin
Robertson of Toronto married Mohan Sharma in December
2018.
All three have planned to attend, though the bishops of the New
York
Diocese wrote an open letter to Welby in February objecting to his
policy excluding same-sex spouses.
Shortly afterward, Okoh, Nigeria’s
primate, or senior bishop, wrote,
"With great sadness, we therefore have to
conclude that the Lambeth
Conference of 2020 will be an obstacle to the
gospel."
Okoh is a member of the Global Anglican Future Conference
(GAFCON), a
network of roughly a dozen conservative bishops — some of them
not
recognized by the worldwide communion — formed at the time of the last
Lambeth Conference, in 2008, to protest the inclusion of two gay bishops
from the U.S. and Canada.
On May 6, GAFCON’s Primates Council,
meeting in Australia, issued a
statement saying GAFCON’s delegates in an
earlier meeting in Jerusalem
had urged the bishops to shun Lambeth 2020 if
godly order was not
restored in the communion. They said Welby had not
responded or acted on
their concerns.
"The incoherence further tears
the fabric of the Anglican Communion and
undermines the foundation of
reconciliation," said the statement.
GAFCON has planned its own
conference in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, to
allow those who will not be
attending the Anglican Communion gathering
in the U.K. to fellowship
together.

Philippines’
President Duterte Says He Cured Himself Of Being Gay
May 31,

Niamh Harris News, World 0
Philippines President Rodrigo
Duterte has claimed that he was once gay
but "cured" himself.
Duterte
made the bizarre admission while visiting Japan, saying he used
to be gay
before he met his ex wife, then he "became a man again."
He said when he
met his now ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman he told himself
"this is it. I
became a man again".
RT reports: Duterte is something of a self-styled
expert on the question
of who is and isn’t gay, if the frequency with which
he makes the
accusation is any indication. After accusing "most" priests in
the
Catholic church of being homosexual earlier in the year, during a speech
Thursday he decided to ‘out’ a political opponent, and then
himself.
According to local media, the outspoken leader relayed that
anyone in
the know would come to the same conclusion about his ardent
critic,
Senator Antonio Trillanes:
I said, "are you sure?" They said,
"you ask any gay person who sees
Trillanes move, they’ll say he’s gay." No
wonder. Good thing Trillanes
and I are similar– but I cured
myself.
He then said that he made the decision to "become a man again"
after
meeting his former wife, before ambiguously adding "Duterte is gay. So
I
am gay, I don’t care if I’m gay or not." The jury is still out on that
one.
While he has never been quite so explicit, this is not the first
time
Duterte has hinted about his proclivities: In 2017, he joked about
having considered bisexuality so he could "have fun both ways."

President Duterte Says He Was Once Gay 'But I Cured Myself'
By Shane
Croucher on 5/31/19 At 6:53 Am Edt
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte
has claimed he was once gay but
"cured" himself of homosexuality in
controversial remarks made during a
trip to Japan.
According to
Rappler, a Filipino news publication, Duterte mocked his
political opponent
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV by saying his movements
show he is homosexual.
Duterte also reportedly "confessed" that he was
gay before he met his
ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.
"Good thing Trillanes and I are similar. But
I cured myself," Duterte
said during a speech on Thursday, Rappler reported.
"When I began a
relationship with Zimmerman, I said, this is it. I became a
man again."
He subsequently added: "Duterte is gay. So I am gay, I don't
care if I'm
gay or not."
Duterte, whose ruling PDP-Laban party made
large gains in May's
elections, has flip-flopped on LGBT rights. Prior to
his election as
president in 2016, Duterte pledged the introduce same-sex
marriage to
the Catholic country. But he later switched to favoring same-sex
"unions" instead.
"Same-sex marriage is good. Everyone deserves to be
happy," Duterte told
his country's popular talk show Vice Ganda back in
2015.
But two years later, after his election, during a speech
criticizing
transgenderism in the U.S., Duterte said: "There is no gender
because
you can be a he or she...That's their culture. It does not apply to
us,"
BBC News reported.
"We are Catholics and there is the Civil
Code, which says that you can
only marry a woman for me... a woman to marry
a man. That's our law so
why would you accept that gender?"
His
latest comments about homosexuality follow remarks in January about
gay
Catholic bishops and child molestation. Duterte has clashed with the
Catholic Church over its criticism of his brutal war on drugs.
"Only
I can say it, bishops are sons of bitches, damn you. It's true,
most of them
are gay," Duterte said at a ceremony for the groundbreaking
of a new high
school in January. "They should come out in the open,
cancel the celibacy
and allow them to have boyfriends."
Duterte has overseen and encouraged
thousands of extrajudicial killings
by police and armed militias in his
bloody war on drugs. His
deliberately incendiary rhetoric is inciting
further violence on the
streets of the Philippines, which he hopes will
purge them of the
illicit drugs trade.
"I never said I do not believe
in God. What I said is your God is
stupid, mine has a lot of common sense.
That's what I told the bishops,"
Duterte said in January amid Catholic
criticism of his drug war.
"I never said I was an atheist. Well, the
presidency is a God-given
gift. I am sure God would not have given me the
position if I was
bullshit...I couldn't have made it in life...without God.
But these
bishops of yours, kill them. They are useless fools. All they do
is
criticize." ...

In 1919, Magnus Hirschfeld and Arthur
Kronfeld, founded the "Institut
für Sexualwissenschaft" (Institute for
‘Sexual Research’) in Berlin.
Both were active in the German Communist Party
and were prominent
members of Berlin’s Jewish community.
A multitude
of degenerate services were offered at the institute,
including the first
surgical sex changes in modern history, abortions,
lectures and ‘sex
counseling’, room rentals, a large library of
pornography and erotic
literature on every possible perversion
(including bestiality and
pedophilia), and a Museum of Sex featuring a
wide array of homosexual fetish
items, dildos, "masturbation machines", etc.
The institute hosted tens of
thousands of visitors each year, including
school class field trips.
Hirschfeld was a notorious sodomite, popularly
known in the Berlin gay scene
by his cross-dresser name Tante Magnesia.
He also founded a committee for
gay rights and wrote and published many
degenerate books and journals,
including Jahrbuch für Sexuelle
Zwischenstufen (Yearbook for Intermediate

the sinister figure that coined the term
‘transvestite’. Hirschfeld
campaigned to end the Berlin police department’s

cross-dressers and prostitutes.
In 1921, Hirschfeld

which led to the formation

Strictly Orthodox women 'to take
action' against opening Hampstead Heath
Ladies Pond to transgender
swimmers
They cannot use the pond as Halacha - Jewish law - does not
recognise
any gender change
Strictly Orthodox women are reportedly
preparing to "take action"
against the decision to open the Hampstead Heath
Ladies Pond to
transgender swimmers, which means they cannot, under Jewish
law, swim there.
Under halacha, no one can change their gender, and so
trans women would
not be considered women.
While Jewish law permits
Strictly Orthodox Jewish women to be in a state
of undress in front of other
women, it is forbidden in front of men.
University of Reading Professor
Rosa Freedman said on Twitter she had
"explained [the concept of] trans to
an ultra orthodox chassidic Jewish
Rabbi whose wife and her friends will no
longer be able to swim at
Hampstead Ladies Pond… perhaps the most difficult
conversation I have
had on the issue to date."
The rabbi’s wife, Prof
Freedman said, "swims there every day…and she
wanted to know 'what can we
do? and how do we do it?' She is currently
creating a group of religious
women to take action."
I spoke to his wife (who swims there every day)
and she wanted to know
'what can we do? and how do we do it?' She is
currently creating a group
of religious women to take action. This is why I
love women -- present
us with a problem and we will self-organise to find a
solution.
https://t.co/vR2wGHk1s8 —
Rosa Freedman (@GoonerProf) May 22, 2019
The change was brought in by the
City of London Corporation, which
manages Hampstead Heath, after a public
consultation.
The corporation claimed the "overwhelming majority" of the
21,000 valid
responses to the consultation favoured admitting trans women to
the
ladies pond.
Opponents of the decision have claimed that close to
50 percent of the
responses were deemed invalid, apparently because "they
did not address
any of the questions on gender identity".
A JC
understands a judicial review challenge is being prepared against
the City
of London’s decision, in which strictly Orthodox Jewish women
are expected
to be involved.
Edward Lord, from the City of London Corporation, said:
"This policy
will ensure our public services do not discriminate against
trans people.
"We support a wide range of service users and we want to
ensure they can
all feel comfortable accessing and enjoying our
facilities.
"All communities should be fully respected, and equality and
basic human
rights upheld."

Zuby on the need to
protect women’s sport and the cult of identity

SPIKED

Men’s and women’s sporting
competitions have historically, with a few
exceptions, been separate. But in
recent years, it has become more
common for trans women (biological males)
to compete in women’s events.
Trans women have competed against biological
women in the top flights of
several sports, including athletics, cycling,
handball, volleyball and
weightlifting. Most famously, Rachel McKinnon, born
male, won gold in
female track cycling at the 2018 UCI Masters Track Cycling
World
Championships.
Many argue that male biology confers certain
unavoidable advantages and
so women could lose out if women’s categories are
opened up to
biological males. Zuby, a rapper, podcaster and fitness coach,
set out
to prove this. He has produced several viral videos in which he
breaks
British women’s weightlifting records while ‘identifying’ as a woman.
spiked caught up with him for a chat.
spiked: Why did you decide to
identify as a woman to break the women’s
deadlift record?
Zuby: I
already have a lot of footage of myself working out, including
the video of
me ‘breaking’ the women’s record. Around the time I posted
the video, there
were multiple news stories popping up about transgender
athletes –
technically biological men – competing against biological
women. They were
winning races and competitions in all kinds of sports.
I’d seen this kind of
thing springing up over the years, but in a very
short period of time it
seemed like there were lots of cases
Out of curiosity, I googled what the
British women’s powerlifting
records actually were and I saw that I could
beat all of them. So that
video I posted, that wasn’t me lifting my maximum
– the women’s record
is 215kg and my maximum is 275kg. It’s similar for the
bench press. And
the women’s squat record was roughly the same as my own
personal best.
So I tweeted the video:
I think that adding ‘PS I
identified as a woman… Don't be a bigot’ is
what made it go viral. I just
tweeted it out there. At the time I had
about 19,000 followers. I knew it
would resonate with my audience. I
thought they would find it funny and that
would be that. But within 10
minutes the video had over 10,000 views – by

had over 300,000.
Everything just blew up
and I started getting contacted by news
organisations across the globe. It
was weird on all levels. I tripled my
social-media following.
...
spiked: Do you worry that racial identity and racial divides are
making
a comeback?
Zuby: Honestly, I wish we didn’t even have to talk
about race. There was
a period – certainly in my own life – where it seemed
like people
stopped caring about race. But in the past few years, there has
been
this concerted effort to make it a huge thing again. That’s one of the
key reasons why I don’t like identity politics. I think it’s incredibly
divisive. It’s not the way I was raised and it’s not how I
think.
Obviously, I can see with my own eyes what skin colour people are
but I
don’t make major assumptions based on that. I find that incredibly
annoying when people do, whether it’s positive, negative or neutral. To
assume anything about me – that I think in a certain way or believe
certain things – simply because I’m black, is the definition of bigotry.
It’s not important to my identity at all. It doesn’t say much about me
apart from where my ancestors are from.
I don’t like the narrative of
‘white privilege’ or any of the oppression
narratives, either, especially
because in 2019 I don’t believe that they
are true. People will argue with
me until the cows come home about this
but I don’t see any evidence for it.
I’d be much more open to the
concept of white privilege if we were talking
about 30 or 40 years ago
because it would be a lot more real. But there’s
nothing I can’t do or
achieve in the US or the UK because of my skin colour.
As long as that’s
the case, can we just get on with stuff? That battle has
been won, but
people still want to fall back on these racial categories.
Ironically,
it’s coming from people who claim to be against bigotry, but
they are
promoting bigotry themselves.

Myers.

Children
in Social Services System Most at Risk of Being Sex Trafficked

Among children
reported as likely victims of child sex trafficking upon
running away from
home, most have one thing in common—they were supposed
to be looked after by
the government.
In 2014, some 10,000 endangered runaway children were
reported to the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC),
a nonprofit
that serves as a clearinghouse for reports on missing children.
Nearly
1,700 of them were likely victims of sex trafficking and of those, 68
percent were in the care of social services when they went missing, be
it a group home, a government facility, or foster care.
While these
sobering statistics have been reported for years by the
NCMEC, more recent
data suggests that the problem is even more acute.
In 2017, nearly 25,000
runaways reported to NCMEC and nearly 3,600 were
likely victims of sex
trafficking. Of those, 88 percent came from the
social services
system.
In fact, children in the social services system are the group
with the
highest prevalence of child sex trafficking, said Robert Lowery,
NCMEC’s
vice president who heads its missing children division.
The
real scope of the problem almost certainly goes beyond NCMEC’s data.
The FBI
reported over 420,000 missing children in 2018, while Lowery
said the actual
number of missing children could be as high as 1.3
million a
year.
While most of the missing children are found, return on their own,
or
weren’t missing to begin with, there still appears to be a strong link
between child sex trafficking and the social services system.
In
2013, 60 percent of child sex trafficking victims recovered as part
of an
FBI raid in 70 cities had "some familiarity with or involvement
with either
group homes or the foster care system," said NPR justice
correspondent
Carrie Johnson in 2013.
In 2012, Connecticut Department of Children and
Families reported (pdf)
that of 88 child victims of sex trafficking it
identified, 86 had been
"involved with child welfare services in some
manner," many of whom were
"victimized while in foster care or residential
placement."
The question follows, why?
Stripped of
Family
Over 440,000 children were in the social services system as of
September
2017. Only in a minority of cases were the reasons for removing
the
children from their families grim circumstances, such as physical abuse
(12 percent), parent incarceration (7 percent), or a parent’s death (1
percent). The most common reasons for the removals were neglect (62
percent) and drug abuse by one or both parents (36 percent).
Parental
drug abuse can be as simple as failing a single voluntary drug
test. Neglect
can mean as little as missing homeschooling paperwork, or
even letting a
child eat sweets before dinner.
While Lowery stressed that social workers
are trying to do a "thankless
job" as best they can, they have considerable
power to have a child
removed from his or her family based on minimal
evidence. While the
system differs from state to state, a social worker
generally only needs
to write an affidavit alleging neglect and, with no
further evidence,
obtain a removal order from a family court
judge.
There have been cases where workers have fabricated evidence,
twisted
facts, or were even engaged in trafficking the children they were
supposed to protect.
Once the child is in the system, it can be
exceedingly difficult for the
parents to get their child
back.
Sometimes, social workers would form an impression of the family
early
on and "try to fit the evidence" to that impression, said Kevin
Hickey,
an Arkansas attorney with experience in foster system cases, in
2017.
"So if they don’t like you or they think you’re a bad parent, you’re
in
for a long haul."
As The Epoch Times previously reported, the
system appears set up to
incentivize workers to remove children, not
necessarily to help families
rehabilitate.
Hard to Come
Back
It’s not hard to see that children in these situations, whether
victimized by parents or the social services system itself, could be
vulnerable to pimps eager to give them a false sense of
belonging.
The My Life, My Choice Project based in Boston found that of
the first
40 girls they worked with who were living in group homes within
the
foster care system, 38 had been approached by a pimp for recruitment,
according to the 2009 National Report on Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking:
America’s Prostituted Children (pdf).
"What we have learned is
overwhelmingly, while these kids may leave home
voluntarily, while they may
be runaways or any one of a variety or
variations on that theme; they are
seduced, they are tricked, they are
lured into this practice and then they
lose the ability to walk away,"
said Ernie Allen, NCMEC president and chief
executive, as quoted in the
report. "These kids literally become
21st-century slaves."
Pimps are especially skilled at developing
dependency in their victims,
bit by bit offering attention, care, and
material rewards while
isolating their victims from any other supports such
as family, friends,
and community. Once the victims are materially and
emotionally dependent
on them, they can withhold rewards or mete out
punishment for disobedience.
Their main targets are children aged
12-14.
"It’s scary sad when a 14-year-old girl is walking down that
street hand
in hand with her captor and thinking, ‘This is normal, this is
what
14-year-old girls do. I’ve been doing this since I was 12 years old,’"
said Inspector Jim Klein, Commanding Officer of the NYPD Crime
Prevention Bureau in a previous interview, commenting on an actual case
the department handled.
The girl, from South Carolina, was tracked by
her family to New York,
where the NYPD found her and returned
her.
"You want to hear the frustrating part about it? Right after that,
she
runs away again and she’s back in NYC," Klein said. "They caught her
again, but this is a recurring phenomenon.
"When law enforcement
takes these kids back home, many times these kids
walk right back out the
door on their own and right back into the
clutches of these offenders," said
Lowery, who has a law enforcement
background himself.
"We’re good at
finding them. But, I tell you, the challenge is keeping
them. … The
frustration that we face is how we keep those children in a
safe
place?"
One thing that may help is investing some of the social service’s
dollars into rehabilitating the families these children have been
removed from or ran away from to begin with.
The Family First
Prevention Services Act, which was included by
Republicans in the 2018
budget, enables just that—to use the foster
system’s funding on services
that help prevent a child’s removal from
their family and help families stay
together.
