MH17 Investigators Charge Four Over 2014 Downing of Airliner

The international team investigating the
2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine leveled murder
charges against three Russians and a Ukrainian that it said were responsible for
shooting down the aircraft.
Almost five years after 298 people died when
a Russian-made surface-to-air missile detonated just feet from the Boeing 777 at
cruising altitude, the Joint Investigation Team said that it will prosecute
Russian nationals Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinskiy, and Oleg Pulatov as well as
Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko.

‘One-way street’: MH17 probe says nothing of
Ukrainian government’s responsibility
Published time: 20 Jun, 2019

The Dutch-led investigation into the downing
of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 over a rebel-held Ukrainian region appears to
be going "just one way" and ignores Kiev’s responsibility, aviation lawyer Heiko
Van Schyndel told RT.
On Wednesday, four individuals were charged
with murder in the lingering MH17 case. International arrest warrants were
issued for three Russians and one Ukrainian, all believed to be embedded with
the rebel forces at the time. The investigators accuse them of playing a
significant role in the tragedy, by receiving a Buk missile, allegedly from
Russia, which they claim was used to shoot down the plane.
However, questions have been piling up about
the impartiality of the probe and about the way they arrived at these seemingly
breakthrough conclusions.
While Moscow is squarely blamed for the
incident, the investigators have kept
mum about the responsibility of the Ukrainian government, which did not close
its airspace despite being aware that there were missiles in the area, Van
Schyndel, who also represents German MH17 victims in ongoing litigation,
said.
"About… the possible fault of the Ukrainian
government, nothing is said in the investigation. If you blame somebody that 298
people were killed, then you also should ask the question about Ukrainian
involvement in this," he told RT.
Moreover, Kiev, a full-fledged member of the
Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIT), has been up to date with all the
developments of the probe and, being part of the team, has more leverage over
its outcome than Moscow, which does not have any say in the
investigation.
"I had the impression that the investigation
was just one way," he said. "Ukraine is part of the investigation, Russia
not."
Asked if he considers the case presented by
the JIT to be solid, Van Schyndel pointed out that the findings are still
shrouded in secrecy, leaving his clients and many more victims of the crash
without a sense of closure.
"They said they have investigated something…
they presented to the public nothing," he said, calling on the JIT to "at least
give them [the families of the deceased passengers] that all is disclosed, and
not that something is hidden somewhere."
Despite being effectively shut out by the
investigators, Moscow has reiterated that it is still open to cooperation,
although its insight has been repeatedly ignored. Russia has provided radar
data, declassified military data on the Buk missile, and documents proving that
the missile which downed the plane had been in Ukraine since the
1980s.
Aviation expert Julian Bray told RT that the
Kremlin has good reasons not to take the JIT findings at face value.
"They can actually be excused for saying:
"Well, we were not involved in the investigation, how on Earth could we actually
rubber-stamp this?’" he said. Bray noted that, from the outset of the
investigation, it has been heavily politicized.
Speaking about the radar imagery that
supposedly set the record straight, Bray argued that it could have been tampered
with, as "basically something off a computer screen."
"If you’re so minded, it is possible to
change things around," he said.
The JIT refused to consider the radar data
that Moscow offered, but it doesn’t have that from Ukraine either. In 2015, Wim
van der Weegen, spokesman for the Dutch Safety Board (OVV), acknowledged that
Kiev did not provide its radar data, claiming that its civil aviation radar was
undergoing routine maintenance and the military radar was not working at the
time.
All 298 people aboard the Malaysian Airlines
flight died after it was shot down over Ukraine in 2014.

Who Shot Down MH-17? - Paul Craig Roberts
Who Shot Down MH-17?
Paul Craig Roberts
JULY 30, 2015
The available evidence convinces me that the
Malaysian airliner shot down over Ukraine was a plot hatched in Washington in
order to blame Russia, blame which helps Washington’s pressure on Europe for
sanctions against Russia. An alternative explanation is that Washington’s stooge
government in Kiev in an assassination attempt against Vladimir Putin mistook
the Malaysian airliner for Putin’s airplane.
The circumstantial evidence in favor of the
former explanation is that the Western media was primed and ready to go with
stories blaming Russia the minute the news broke that the airliner had been
downed. No evidence was available, but the Western media was uniform in
accusations against Russia and "Russian-supported separatists."
In making up your own mind, consider these
two reports:
(4)
Why were downings of Iran Air 655 (by USA) and Siberia Airlines 1812 (by
Ukraine) not 'War Crimes'?
The Ukraine military shot down Siberia
Airlines flight 1812 in 2001. This was attributed to a "stray missile"; no talk
of "war crime" then.
The US military shot down Iran Air flight
655 over Iranian waters; the US never acknowledged responsibility, and this was
not called a "war crime".
The downing of MH17 coincided with the
anniversay of the destruction of TWA800. New information indicates that this was
an accident caused by a stray missile, but US authorities have covered it
up.
Evidence that does not fit the official
theory has been suppressed, eg from Wikipedia. As an encyclopedia, it's fine on
most topics, but unreliable on controversial issues.

A Spanish air traffic contractor, Carlos,
working at Kiev Air Traffic Control (ATC), sent out a series of Tweets just
after the downing of MH17, saying that the Kiev military shot MH370 down, and
had tried to make it look like a Rebel attack.
Carlos' Twitter account @spainbuca was
deleted by the US Government, but not before screenshots were captured; they are

Eyewitness #1: There were two explosions in
the air. And this is how it broke apart. And [the fragments] blew apart like
this, to the sides. And when ...
Eyewitness #2: ... And there was another
aircraft, a military one, beside it. Everybody saw it.
Eyewitness #1: Yes, yes. It was flying under
it, because it could be seen. It was proceeding underneath, below the civilian
one.
Eyewitness #3: There were sounds of an
explosion. But they were in the sky. They came from the sky. Then this plane
made a sharp turn-around like this. It changed its trajectory and headed in that
direction [indicating the direction with her hands].

MH17 cockpit shows traces of Shelling FROM BOTH SIDES It was not hit by a Jet
Fighter, not a Missile
The MSM do not show the Cockpit photo; they
only show photos of the Fuselage. They do identify Shrapnel holes, but without
distinguishing ENTRY from EXIT holes, and they conclude that the Shrapnel was
produced by a Missile (surface-to-air eg SA-11 (Buk), or possibly
air-to-air).
But shrapnel from a missile would pierce the
Cockpit in only ONE direction.

Revelations of German Pilot: Shocking
Analysis of the "Shooting Down" of Malaysian MH17. "Aircraft Was Not Hit by a
Missile"
By Peter Haisenko
Global Research, July 30, 2014
anderweltonline.com
The tragedy of Malaysian MH 017 continues to
elude any light of clarity being cast over it. [...]
First, I was amazed at how few photos can be
found from the wreckage with Google. All are in low resolution, except one: The
fragment of the cockpit below the window on the pilots side. ...
The cockpit shows traces of shelling! You
can see the entry and exit holes. The edge of a portion of the holes is bent
inwards. These are the smaller holes, round and clean, showing the entry points
most likely that of a 30 millimeter caliber projectile. The edge of the other,
the larger and slightly frayed exit holes showing shreds of metal pointing
produced by the same caliber projectiles. Moreover, it is evident that at these
exit holes of the outer layer of the double aluminum reinforced structure are
shredded or bent – outwardly! Furthermore, minor cuts can be seen, all bent
outward, which indicate that shrapnel had forcefully exited through the outer
skin from the inside of the cockpit. The open rivets are are also bent outward.
...
So what could have happened? Russia recently
published radar recordings, that confirm at least one Ukrainian SU 25 in close
proximity to MH 017. This corresponds with the statement of the now missing
Spanish controller ÔCarlos' that has seen two Ukrainian fighter aircraft in the
immediate vicinity of MH 017. If we now consider the armament of a typical SU 25
we learn this: It is equipped with a double-barreled 30-mm gun, type GSh-302 /
AO-17A, equipped with: a 250 round magazine of anti-tank incendiary shells and
splinter-explosive shells (dum-dum), arranged in alternating order. The cockpit
of the MH 017 has evidently been fired at from both sides: the entry and exit
holes are found on the same fragment of it's cockpit segment!

MH17: Russian investigators claim proof from
witness that Ukrainian pilot involved in downing of flight
Thu 25 Dec 2014, 5:44am
Russian investigators say they have new
proof from a witness that a Ukrainian pilot fired a missile on the day of the
Malaysia Airlines crash which killed 298 people, including 38
Australians.
The witness, who was not named, worked at an
airfield in the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk where he claimed to have seen a
warplane take off on July 17 with air-to-air missiles and return without
them.
An Investigative Committee statement said
the testimony of the man "is important proof that Ukrainian military was
implicated in the crash of the Boeing-777". ...
The witness was filmed by Russian tabloid
Komsomolskaya Pravda with his back to the camera and even the back of his head
blurred.
He said he saw a Sukhoi-25 jet take off
armed with air-to-air rockets and return to the base without them.
"[The plane's operator] could have launched
them into the Boeing out of fear or revenge," the witness said, identifying the
pilot of the jet as having the surname Voloshin.
"Maybe he mistook it for another
plane."
Komsomolskaya Pravda claimed the witness
showed up at its office and that his identity checked out but did not identify
him because his family was still in Ukraine. ... ==
