Mossad doesn't do self-immolation. So they wouldn't do the flying of jets into buildings. The only Mossad agent involved directly in the hijacking was killed by the Muslim hijackers instantly when they took over the AA jet.

On 9/11, those planes would have been flown by remote-control, into the towers. If hijackers were on board, they themselves were hijacked.

But if there were hijackers, they should have been photographed on the CCTV at all airports. One would expect that such footage would have been shown on TV - repeatedly. It wasn't.

Anything could have happened but right now there is zero proof most conspiracy stories have even a little truth in them.

Or that the UK Telegraph interviewed 4 of the hijackers AFTER 9/11?

On the Palestinian side, the paper describes their youth as "loose cannons; under no control, sometimes violent." The study lists five Arab terrorist groups that could target American troops for assassination and hostage-taking. ...

The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor."

Netanyahu reportedly made the comments during a conference at Bar-Ilan University on the division of Jerusalem as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cast doubt over the veracity of the September 11 attacks Thursday, calling it a pretext to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.

"Four or five years ago, a suspicious event occurred in New York. A building collapsed and they said that 3,000 people had been killed but never published their names," Ahmadinejad told Iranians in the holy city of Qom.

"Under this pretext, they [the U.S.] attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and since then, a million people have been killed only in Iraq."

Speaking Wednesday at a news conference on the Iran threat, Netanyahu compared Ahmadinejad to Adolf Hitler and likened Tehran's nuclear program to the threat the Nazis posed to Europe in the late 1930s.

Netanyahu said Iran differed from the Nazis in one vital respect, explaining that "where that [Nazi] regime embarked on a global conflict before it developed nuclear weapons," he said. "This regime [Iran] is developing nuclear weapons before it embarks on a global conflict." ==

Six weeks before the terrorist attack in New York, Larry Silverstein leased the Twin Towers for 99 years, paying $3 billion. Their collapse was also the collapse of the deal of his life, and since then, he has been trying to put the pieces back together in the face of fierce public criticism, some of it anti-Semitic.

His business dealings in Israel haven't given him much satisfaction either

Shortly after the events of September 11, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called Larry Silverstein, a Jewish real estate magnate in New York, the owner of the World Trade Center's 110-story Twin Towers and a close friend, to ask how he was. Since then they have spoken a few more times. Two former prime ministers - Benjamin Netanyahu, who this week called Silverstein a "friend," and Ehud Barak, whom Silverstein in the past offered a job as his representative in Israel - also called soon after the disaster. Yaakov Terner, the mayor of Be'er Sheva, sent a letter of condolence.

Many Israeli politicians are acquainted in one degree or another with the 70-year-old Silverstein. ...

Six weeks before the events of September 11, Silverstein leased the Twin Towers and buildings No. 4 and 5 of the WTC complex for 99 years from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He agreed to pay $3.2 billion for the properties. Becoming the owner of them, on July 24, was the high point of his career and marked the end of a grueling quest.

In February of this year, five days before the bids in the privatization process were due, Silverstein was injured in a road accident. In April he was informed that he had lost the tender. A few weeks later, though, events took a surprising turn. The winner of the tender dropped out, leaving Silverstein and his partners in Westfield America, who had finished second, as the new winners. Worn out but happy, Silverstein was photographed in the New York sun holding the symbolic keys to the towers, and spoke of a dream that had come true.

On September 11, his world lay in a six-story heap of ruins. Above all, four members of his staff were killed and he himself was saved only because a meeting he had scheduled that morning with officials of the Port Authority on the 88th floor of 1 World Trade Center (the south tower) was canceled at the last minute.

From his home on Park Avenue, he watched the results after the first plane slammed into the north tower. He rushed to his office on Fifth Avenue, from where he saw the second tower hit. He was terrified for the fate of his children, Roger and Lisa, who sometimes worked in his offices at 1 WTC. One of his employees, a woman, who survived by walking down 88 flights of stairs, arrived in the Fifth Avenue office covered in dust. There she found Silverstein shaking in every bone of his body. I see that you're in worse shape than me, she told him.

In the afternoon of September 11, the Fire Department informed him that the smaller 7 World Trade Center building, which he owned, was going to collapse.

It did so at 5:30 P.M., followed by buildings No. 4 and 5.

Silverstein, who only six weeks earlier had carried out the largest real-estate transaction in the history of New York, was left with nothing. It was also the worst timing ever in American history for a business deal, the press said afterward.

The buyer continues to pay

The full economic consequences of the attacks became clear only later. Upon signing the contract, Silverstein paid the Port Authority $616 million. He undertook to pay the rest, with the addition of about $100 million in each of the next 10 years, even if something happened to the buildings. Silverstein is continuing to pay his debt to the Port Authority, but is no longer receiving rent from the firms that leased office space there. He told his friends in Israel not to worry because the insurance companies would pay. But that is not so simple.

Silverstein insured the towers for a $3.5 billion against any claim. He maintains that the towers were hit in two separate incidents, and therefore expects to receive compensation of $7 billion. The insurance companies maintain that there was only one event and are ready to pay only $3.5 billion.

Close ties with Netanyahu

... The two have been on friendly terms since Netanyahu's stint as Israel's ambassador to the United Nations. For years they kept in close touch. Every Sunday afternoon, New York time, Netanyahu would call Silverstein. It made no difference what the subject was or where Netanyahu was, he would always call, Silverstein told an Israeli acquaintance. Their ties continued after Netanyahu became prime minister. They met several times and Netanyahu promised to give the project his support. ...

However, Sharon's initiative was stopped dead in its tracks by the elections of May 1999. Still, the change of government did not look ominous to Silverstein - on the contrary. He was friends with the new prime minister, Ehud Barak, too. ...

Von Buelow seems not to have considered Mossad as perpetrator. But certain bits of his account fit Mossad better.

For example, he says that just after 9/11, a TV crew of the defense ministry in Israel gave candies to Palestinians and filmed them dancing and laughing. This was then shown on US TV, as if they were responding to 9/11. The CIA would not have been on the spot amid Palestinians; Mossad was.

Then he raises the question "to whom does it bring good?" Once again, Israel. Haaretz reported "Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel".

Von Buelow then mentions that the owner of the WTC slipped up on TV and said that they blew Building Seven up. But the owner was Larry Silverstein, a Zionist who had regular meetings with Netanyahu.

And he's not the only German minister who has said we are looking at world fascism here and a powerful military industrial complex institution engineering terror attacks to scare us into submission. And, Andre von Bulow, err Andreas von Bulow, we are so honored to have a man of your stature and obvious intelligence and your courage on this show. Thank you for joining us.

Andreas von Bulow: Hello and it's wonderful speaking, yes.

AJ: Uh, we're going to break here in a few minutes and come back in a longer segment but for those who just joined us, tell us a little bit more about yourself and your book please.

AvB: Well I...I have spent over twenty-five years in politics and now I am out. And in the end I was Minister of Technology before I was Secretary of Defense. Then I had to deal in a commission on East-West transactions about the secret service of East Germany. And this was very interesting inside story because of the Western side doing deals violating the laws in Eastern Eur, err, East Germany, European Community and the United States. It was always two parts dealing with East and West and this bought me a lot of insights in the secret service business.

AJ: ... But please, tell us about your book.

AvB: Well I was writing another book and then 9 11 happened. And it was strange to me watching- we all were horrified what was going on and said well that's impossible, how could a crew of people manage do such horrible things? At the first hours, we didn't know who was it, then within hours it came out that probably Usama bin Laden and Al Qaeda was behind it. And then within two or three days these 19 people came out. And my objection was- my looking at it- to whom does it bring good? And I found out that it is rather damaging to the Islamic world and perhaps it might be not only be a terrorist attack but perhaps it might be a covert operation. I watched the scenery, what was going on, what the American government-

AJ: Minister, minister, we've got to break; we'll be back in three minutes. Absolutely, we'll go into this in great detail. We are honored to have you. We're talking to Andreas von Bulow. We'll be back. (Fade to bumper music)

AJ: That's right my friends it's eight minutes ten seconds into this 3rd hour of global transmission. I am so honored to have on Andreas von Bulow ... And he's written a best selling book and I've read some quotes out of it that have been translated into English. And the title translated is '911 and the CIA.' And he lays out the evidence of the military- industrial complex carrying out the attacks. Also we have lined up Michael Micher. And he of course was the English environmental minister who resigned over Tony Blair's fraud. He has written articles saying that if they didn't carry it out, they certainly funded and allowed them to take place. So, if you've got a brain, it's clear, and Mr. von Bulow, very intelligent individual has gone over this. So, sir, you've said that on the day of the event you began to look at it, you began to research it. And, from your specific expertise in intelligence and military and technology, you know heading up entire sectors of the world's third largest economy. Please discuss for us your research and how you wrote the book and what really happened on 9 11.

AvB: Err, 9 11, I just watched the scenery. And I said there must have- gone something very [wrong]. I watched the TV for example and in the same minute that the TV showed the planes driving into the World Trade Center, you found these Palestinians dancing and laughing. And a few days later one could find out that this was fake. It was made by a TV crew of the defense ministry in Israel and they gave candies to the people and they laughed about it. And, nobody told it. And the question for me was who brought this TV stuff right in time into the national networks like CNN and CBS and so on and so on. And then we look for the, the story came out that this had been done by bin Laden and his Al-Qaeda and these 19 people of Muslim background, which did this. And you could watch the Persian journalist, and nobody showed up. Not one Arabic name was showing up there. And then one is interested to see video because all these 19 passengers must have passed the video, a lot of video cameras in Dallas, and New York, and Logan in Boston, and Portland in the North. You don't get this stuff. And then we're looking for the black boxes and we don't get them. And the story how these, these World Trade Center buildings broke down, they were constructed against an approach by airplanes. And, the firemen of New York, they were able to come to the floor where the fires were burning, and they said, the fire commander said he needed two teams, small, to fight these fires and then it's finished. So the heat, it is impossible that the heat was as high as it has been written in the papers and in all the media.

AJ: And then, and then the feds declared that all firefighter tapes malfunctioned, turns out that wasn't true; we've got copies of them. And it did say that the firefighters said the fires were out or almost out. There is video of people standing in the holes of the buildings with no fire around them. And we're going to go over the evidence that's in your book, sir, and why you came to these educated conclusions.

AvB: Yeah.

AJ: But, first I want to ask you: have you heard the new developments, the owner of the World Trade Center slipped up on TV and said that they blew Building Seven up. The forty-seven story building that wasn't even hit by an aircraft. This just broke two weeks ago, have you heard this?

AvB: Sure, I have heard this. I follow the whole scenery. Normally, it's coming out in Germany, but it's coming out in your country. It's a fascinating background to, to do research via Internet because all this stuff is broadly spread over the Internet. So it's very easy to follow, but in the main media you don't get to hear about this.

AJ: Well tell you what, later this hour, it's only three minutes of audio clips, we will air from the PBS documentary 'America Rebuilding,' where they admit they blew up WTC 7. Now, that's important because they said that building fell from fire even though it wasn't hit by a plane. And now, he slips up and says we decided to demolish it on 9-11, but then the mainstream media just ignores that. This is a public admission, sir.

AvB: Yeah, yeah especially that the CIA headquarters in New York was in, was within this building. I think the- how do you call it- the emergency center for the governor, the major, err, mayor was-

AJ: Mayor and governor.

AvB: -mayor was in this building. So, it was not hit by a plane, and the fire was very low. And the surrounding steel constructions were left over and didn't collapse. But, the Building 7 collapsed in late afternoon at 5 o' clock I think.

AJ: Well, from our internal sources, they were running the attacks sir, out of the building and so conveniently got rid of the evidence in one fell swoop.

AvB: This is one theory, it might be. It's convincing but one has to get the whole proof. But the problem is that the elements for proof are destroyed.

AJ: Also- AvB: You will find them in Japanese cars and in ships of the American Navy.

AJ: Also, sir, we have NORAD standing down for an hour and twenty five minutes but when we had the golfer Payne Stewart went off course for fifteen minutes, he was surrounded in eighteen minutes by five F-16s so why did NORAD stand down?

AvB: Well, this is a big question because it happened in 2001 more than 60 times. That, fighter[s] went up to clear what has been done to airplanes that showed some irregularities. At 9 11, four planes for two hours were able to drive around, fly around even one hour in the direction going toward the west and then turn around and then comeback. The military air force was not able to interdict them. It's [un]imaginable. And the whole story is totally unclear what happened between the Federal Aviation Agency (Administration) and NORAD. ...

It’s common knowledge, he reveals, CIA, Mossad behind terror attacks

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

“All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

Cossiga was elected president of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide election to become president of the country in 1985, and he remained until 1992.

Cossiga’s tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment, and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio. This was a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and ’80s. Gladio’s specialty was to carry out what they termed “false flag” operations—terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition.

In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, “You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force … the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.”

Cossiga first expressed his doubts about 9-11 in 2001, and is quoted by 9-11 researcherWebster Tarpley saying “The mastermind of the attack must have been a sophisticated mind, provided with ample means not only to recruit fanatic kamikazes, but also highly specialized personnel. I add one thing: it could not be accomplished without infiltrations in the radar and
flight security personnel.”

Coming from a widely respected former head of state, Cossiga’s assertion that the 9-11 attacks were an inside job and that this is common knowledge among global intelligence agencies is illuminating. It is one more eye-opening confirmation that has not been mentioned by America’s propaganda machine in print or on TV. Nevertheless, because of his experience and status in the world, Cossiga cannot be discounted as a crackpot.

In an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera[4] Cossiga made some interesting comments regarding the alleged Osama Bin Laden 9/11 confession video of 13 December 2001:

While the truth may never be known, a series of inquiries under the federal Freedom of Information Act has produced documents showing the FBI was not being candid in earlier statements about military activity in the Atlantic Ocean near the scene of the crash. ...

Almost four months after the crash, Navy Rear Adm. Edward Kristensen, who directed the Navy's support of the Flight 800 investigation and debris recovery, said one Navy P-3 and the guided missile cruiser USS Normandy, "185 miles south," were "the only two assets that the Navy had operating off of the East Coast . . . in the vicinity or close to the TWA 800 crash site."

Documents show that was not the case:

· The Navy's aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt has never been among the ships publicly listed as out to sea that night. Yet, the carrier was at sea and its planes involved in round-the-clock exercises that extended across a huge reach of ocean along the Virginia and Maryland coasts, according to Navy documents.

· Units of a submarine group operating in the military exercise area beginning less than 20 miles from the crash site have yet to be identified.

· Four mystery radar targets, believed to be ships, were within six miles of the crash site at the moment TWA 800 exploded. The NTSB does not know their identities and the FBI's Flight 800 spokesman said he did not know about the ships or the extent to which they were investigated. The four mystery vessels were spotted by shore radar units. None is detected responding to the Flight 800 disaster.

· An Atlantic Fleet watch officer was told about 24 hours after the crash to keep the names of three merchant ships that could have been near Flight 800 "in house Navy for the time being." The identities of those ships still have not been released.

· The USS Normandy, a guided missile cruiser that non-official sources early on said fired a missile that mistakenly hit Flight 800, is listed in two different locations at 8 p.m., a half-hour before the crash, and two different positions at the time of the disaster.

A number of other submarines and military aircraft also were involved in exercises in the area. ...

July 17, 1996 -- Flight 800's crash date -- was a busy day in a busy week for the military along the Northeast seaboard, according to official documents.

Air Force and Navy jet fighters, submarines, an errant Navy drone flight, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, landing ships, elite special forces, the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and its planes, NASA missile shots, gunnery exercises, missile tracking exercises, computerized tests of over-the-horizon warfare programs and anti-submarine activities were among the units and approved operations.

The exercises peaked during the afternoon, most before Flight 800 arrived in New York from Greece, and waned into the evening, according to copies of messages and documents used to request, approve and monitor the activities.

Three submarines -- the Trepang, Albuquerque and Wyoming -- were the closest Navy ships now acknowledged. Submarine Group 2 also had a large military exercise area reserved for round-the-clock operations 20 miles from the crash site. ==

OTTAWA (CP) - A Swissair pilot reported his 747 jet was nearly hit by an unidentified flying object, possibly a missile, near the area off New York where a TWA airplane crashed in 1996, The Canadian Press has learned. Swissair Flight 127 was cruising at 23,000 feet on Aug. 9, 1997, when the pilot interrupted an address to passengers to report the near miss by a round white object, says a report by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.

In a remarkable attempt to invert our understanding of history, Robert B. Stinnett has written a book arguing that Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor was no surprise at all. No surprise, that is, for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The book's title is "Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor."

The basic outline of Stinnett's thesis is not new. What he offers, however, are previously unknown details to support the notion that FDR intentionally provoked the Japanese and then, knowing that war was sure to follow, allowed Pearl Harbor to become the main target -- purposely setting the U.S. battleships out as bait, clearing a path for Japan's carriers across the North Pacific.

According to Stinnett's research, Lieutenant Commander Arthur H. McCollum, head of the Far East desk of the Office of Naval Intelligence, came up with an eight-point plan in October, 1940, for getting the United States into World War II. Stinnett calls this "FDR's back door to war."

For those readers unfamiliar with the strategic position of the United States in 1940, things were not coming up roses. In August 1939 Nazi Germany had joined with Soviet Russia to attack and partition Poland. The Soviets also attacked and invaded Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland. France and Britain, having guaranteed Poland's security, declared war on Hitler but not Stalin.

In the first several months of 1940 Hitler invaded and captured, in order, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium and France. He did this so quickly, and so decisively, that Britain's defeat by the Nazis was a distinct possibility. What would have happened if Hitler had gotten his paws on the British fleet?

In 1940 the Far East situation had also deteriorated. The Japanese had previously taken Korea and Manchuria. In 1937 the Imperial Army invaded China and captured the country's key economic zones, inflicting many defeats on the Chinese. With the fall of France to Hitler, all of French Indochina lay open to Japanese aggression. The position of Dutch Indonesia -- with its vast oil supplies -- was in turn made vulnerable by Japanese advances into Indochina.

To make matters worse, Italy had declared war on Britain in 1940, threatening the Mediterranean Sea lanes and North Africa. Given the solidarity of the dictatorships, their hostility to free society, the fall of Britain, China and the Dutch East Indies would have left America alone and isolated in a world controled by militaristic powers -- with the hub of Western democracy shattered.

It was in this context that Arthur McCollum presented his five page memorandum in October, 1940, which advised the following moves: 1) Arrange to use British naval facilities in the Pacific; 2) Arrange to use facilities and supplies in the Dutch East Indies; 3) Give all possible aid to China in its resistance to Japanese aggression; 4) Send a division of heavy cruisers to the Far East; 5) Send two divisions of submarines to the Far East; 6) Keep the main U.S. fleet in Hawaii; 7) Insist that the Dutch refuse to grant Japanese demands for oil; 8) Completely embargo all trade with Japan, in collaboration with the British.

Stinnett says McCollum's memo became the basis of Roosevelt's grand strategy. This is shown, says Stinnett, by "a series of secret presidential routing logs plus collateral intelligence information in Navy files" which prove that Roosevelt saw the McCollum eight-action plan and approved it.

"Throughout 1941," wrote Stinnett, "provoking Japan into an overt act of war was the principal policy that guided FDR's actions toward Japan." And Stinnett's documentation is persuasive.

Perhaps the most shocking of Roosevelt's actions was the deployment of American cruisers and submarines to the Far East, adjacent to Japan's vital shipping lanes. But in strategic terms, the significant discovery was Stinnett's documentation of how Roosevelt conspired to clear the Northern Pacific of American ships and planes to shield the advance of the Japanese Navy against detection. Had the Japanese been detected, they might have withdrawn their carrier strike force and refused to start a conflict without the advantage of surprise.

In 1986 I had the opportunity to ask President Roosevelt's son, James Roosevelt, about the strategy the U.S. government had followed in 1941. James had worked on his father's staff at the time, and openly admitted that Japan was provoked intentionally with the embargo (Japan had almost no other sources of oil).

"Why did your father provoke Japan with the blockade," I asked, "when all Japan had to do was attack Britian and the Dutch East Indies, leaving our forces alone?"

James Roosevelt smiled faintly and replied, "We were confident how they would react."

This answer puzzled me at the time, but after reading Stinnett's book the answer falls neatly into place. The Japanese militarists were fools who did not understand America's isolationist character. President Roosevelt's intelligence officers, on the U.S. side, had intercepted all of Japan's vital communications. If the Japanese did not understand us, we certainly understood them. Japan's codes had been broken. The White House was reading the Imperial mind, anticipating every Japanese move.

Japan's intelligence failure was fatal to her miltiary ambition. If Stinnett is right, the United States led Japan into a trap which also caught up Hitler and Mussolini, destroying the Axis completely. All that was left of the dictatorships was Stalin, who had fallen out with Hitler in 1941 and ended up joining the Allies.

Was Roosevelt an evil man for the way he conducted U.S. foreign policy in 1941?

I doubt that a Jew, whose parents died at Auschwitz, would say so. I doubt that the suffering Chinese would say so. And from Roosevelts action America emerged to be the world's leading power, providing a stable basis for peace and development across the planet.

Do the ends justify the means?

This is something Americans will have to think about.

(10) Mossad lured Mordecai Vanunu with a Honey Trap - Ari Ben-Menashe

{p. 200} Mordecai Vanunu was a former cab driver who had been talking his head off to a church group in Sydney, Australia's red-light district, King's Cross, claiming that he had worked as a technician at a nuclear facility near Dimona, Israel.

When the Israeli intelligence community got wind of this, they immediately checked into Vanunu's background and found it was true. Born in Morocco to a rightwing Jewish family that had migrated to Israel in the early 1960s, he had grown up in Beersheba before being drafted. He was stationed in Dimona and trained as a technician. After his military service, he stayed on. While a civilian, he also started studying philosophy at the University of the Negev in Beersheba and began sympathizing with the Palestinian cause. He aligned himself with North African Jews who had migrated to Israel and told his pals how horrified he was that Israel had so much nuclear firepower. From his work he had a very good idea what Israel had.

Deciding he had had enough of life in Israel, he sold his Beersheba apartment, left his job and the university, and took off with a knapsack on his back. He headed for Thailand and Nepal, where he converted to Buddhism. He stayed free at Buddhist monasteries, although in his knapsack he had a lot of cash from the sale of his apartment. He also had something far more valuable - photographs and undeveloped film of the inside of the Israeli nuclear facility.

In their checks on Vanunu, Israeli intelligence found out that while in Nepal he had contacted the Soviet Embassy in Katmandu and, in the name of socialism, communism, and world peace, offered them the photographs. He was actually flown to Moscow from Nepal with copies, having left the originals in the monastery. He met with the KGB, handed over the photos, and was then debriefed. Although he had been given vague promises by the person who met him in Nepal, all Vanunu got out of his liaison with the Soviets was a ticket back to Katmandu.

After that trip he lost confidence in the Soviet system. Confused and feeling betrayed, he picked up his knapsack from the monastery and flew to Australia, having arranged a visa while he was in Israel. He hung around until his visa ran out and, now

{p. 201} short of money, decided to stay on illegally. He found a place to live in King's Cross, where he joined a church prayer group.

Vanunu found many among the flock who were keen to hear him preach about the evils of nuclear power. He even brought out some of his top-secret photos and handed them around the prayer group. Encouraged by the wide-eyed response, he converted from Buddhism to Christianity and found a job as a part-time taxi driver.

Among the faithful in the prayer group was a Colombian, Oscar Guerrero. A freelance journalist, he had fallen on hard times and had taken up house painting and listening to Bible readings. When Guerrero saw the photographs, he told Vanunu that the two of them could spread "the word" by getting the photographs published - for a fee.

First, Guerrero approached the Sydney Morning Herald, but the photographs were rejected on the grounds that Guerrero seemed a suspicious character. However, his approach was passed on to the internal intelligence service, the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, then to the external service, the Australian Security Intelligence Service, which mentioned it to Israel. Now Tel Aviv realized it had a problem. And, there were no easy answers.

Guerrero tried The Age newspaper in Melbourne, not realizing it was in the same group as the Sydney Morning Herald. Rejected again, he decided to try the London papers. He put together all the money he had, borrowed from Vanunu's dwindling reserves, and bought himself a ticket for Heathrow Airport. In an astonishing stroke of bad luck, one of the newspaper executives he approached was none other than my associate, full-blown Israeli agent Nicholas Davies, foreign editor of the Daily Mirror.

Davies stalled him by telling him that the newspaper needed to bring in an expert to check out his claims. He then called me in Israel, and I sought advice from my superiors. Prime Minister Peres issued an order that Vanunu be stopped at any price and the traitor brought back to Israel. Although the intelligence community suggested that the uproar would eventually die down, Peres raged that he wanted him caught and brought back to be taught a lesson.

The same evening I flew to London. The next afternoon, posing

{p. 202} as a journalist who was an expert on nuclear and military issues, I met with Guerrero and Nick Davies. I insisted I needed copies of the photos before the newspaper could decide whether it was going to buy the story. Guerrero handed over three samples. "Look at them," he said. "If you think they're good, I'll give you the lot."

That same evening the pictures were sent to Israel. The word came back that they were real and that I had to try to discredit Vanunu and his friend. Meanwhile Nick Davies, as ordered by his publisher Robert Maxwell, put together the framework of a disinformation story, to be used later with copies of the photographs, declaring that the Sunday Mirror had looked into the pictures and the men trying to sell them and that it was all a con job. To back up the story, Vanunu's wanderings were detailed.

It was at that point that we discovered that Guerrero had already struck a deal with the Sunday Times on an earlier trip to London. The Times was planning to fly Vanunu to London, interview him at length, and publish his story in detail. The arrangement was that after the story had been printed, Vanunu would get £250,000 advance on a book about Israel's nuclear capability that he would write with one of the newspaper's staff. Guerrero's cut would be 10 percent. He had approached the Mirror because he believed he was being cut out of the Sunday Times deal.

Vanunu flew to London and was put up in various hotel rooms. We realized at this stage that the story could not be stopped, although the Sunday Times was still a long way from printing anything. I contacted my superiors, and Prime Minister Peres himself decided to throw the full weight of Mossad at Vanunu.

The Mossad station chief in London tipped off MI-5 that Israel had a security problem - on British soil. The British intelligence agency agreed to try to help Israel track down Vanunu but warned the Israelis not to do anything that was likely to cause a political or diplomatic incident on British soil. Sunday Times journalists were followed, but none led their "shadows" to Vanunu's hotel.

Finally Nick Davies telephoned a journalist friend, the editor of a Sunday paper, and actually found out the name of the hotel where Vanunu was staying. Davies passed it on to me, and I relayed it to my superiors in Israel. Now, with Mossad fully aware of Vanunu's whereabouts, a plan was put into action, but without

{p. 203} the knowledge of Mossad Director Nachum Admoni. The manner in which Vanunu was kidnapped has been well documented, except for one fascinating aspect - the true identity of the beautiful siren who lured him to his fate.

Vanunu met "Cindy Hanin Bentov" one evening while walking through Leicester Square. They started chatting, and she suggested they go to a pub for a drink. She met him two or three times in between the interviews he was giving to the Sunday Times, and during one of their dates she told him about an apartment she had in Rome. She invited him to come with her for a visit. The offer was too tempting to refuse.

Vanunu told the Sunday Times he was going away for a long weekend. When he arrived at the Rome apartment, three Mossad agents were waiting. He was grabbed, given a knockout injection and pushed into a large crate. Then the crate was taken to an Israeli ship and loaded on as diplomatic cargo, which meant the authorities could not inspect the container.

Once the ship was on its way, he was brought out of the crate, handcuffed, and taken to a guarded cabin. As soon as the vessel arrived in Ashdod in Israel, a colonel in the police presented him with a formal arrest warrant on security grounds. Even though an Israeli Air Force 707 could have flown Vanunu from Britain's Stansted Airport to Tel Aviv, Mossad had been asked by MI-5 not to kidnap him on British soil because this would have embarrassed Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. When Vanunu did not show up in London after his weekend away with Cindy, the Sunday Times decided to run with what it had, along with the photos, on October 5, 1986. The Sunday Mirror already had run its disinformation piece, but it did not have much effect.

The Vanunu revelations in the Sunday Times caused a world outcry - and there was more to follow when he was brought to court and everyone asked how he had been taken back to Israel. He was able to give the world a clue, even though he had been held in solitary confinement. On one of his trips to court in a police van, he pressed the palm of his hand against the van's window On it, he had written the number of the flight on which he had flown to Rome. ...

At the time of Vanunu's capture, I believe, the SMH & the Age were owned by Hollinger Corporation, run by Conrad Black & his Jewish (Zionist) wife Barbara Amiel. The company owned the Jerusalem Post among other papers.

To my knowledge, the involvement of the SMH, the Age, ASIS & ASIO in the capture of Mordecai Vanunu has never been reported in the Australian media.

Nor raised in Federal Parliament.

A few years ago, I came across an email Mordecai Vanunu had written to someone. Since it had his email address, I added him to this mailing list.

He could since have changed his address; but my bulletins to him have never bounced. As an experiment, I (just now) sent an email to a non-existent address at the same provider. Within a minute or two it bounced with permanent failure.

Anyway, I doubt that my emails reach him. He is totally controlled; all his communications would be intercepted.

It's quite possible, then, that Mossad is on this mailing list.

In the mid-1970s, to recoup his losses, Radi went to work for Pearson, who was supplying intelligence information to Israel. With Radi's unwitting help, Pearson began to acquire intelligence about Palestinian organizations in Europe. The way he did it was by selling arms to those organizations.... Radi was unaware of Pearson's Israeli connection, as were the others involved.

While it may seem curious that Pearson, a man working with Mossad, was encouraging a Jordanian to sell weapons to Israel's enemies, it was actually all part of a very cunning plot. In doing business with these groups, Radi learned what they were going to use their weapons for and unsuspectingly passed the information on to Pearson. Pearson, in turn, passed on to Mossad the intelligence about the movements of the groups and the number of weapons they had.

Based on Radi's unwitting tips, over a two-month period 14 or 15 Palestinians were wiped out. Word went out among the

{p. 122} Palestinian groups that Radi was working for Israeli intelligence and, fearing for his life, he took a trip to Baghdad and presented his case to Abu Nidal himself. Abu Nidal believed his story that he had been used - which he had - and put the word out that Radi was "clean." The blame was placed on Yasser Arafat's group - Palestinian factions at that time were warring among themselves.

Radi went back to his drinking and womanizing, and the money he made selling arms for Pearson all drained away. At that very vulnerable point, in 1978, Pearson stepped in again and offered Radi a 200,000 loan. This time, Pearson made it quite clear to him that the money was coming from an Israeli source. The desperate Radi accepted the loan and was recruited to work for an antiterrorist group in Israel run by Rafi Eitan.

The group's methods were rather unconventional, one could say heinous, but it had operated successfully for years. An example is the case of the "Palestinian" attack on the cruise ship Achille Lauro in 1985. That was, in fact, an Israeli "black" propaganda operation to show what a deadly, cutthroat bunch the Palestinians were.

The operation worked like this: Eitan passed instructions to Radi that it was time for the Palestinians to make an attack and do something cruel, though no specifics were laid out. Radi passed orders on to Abu'l Abbas, who, to follow such orders, was receiving millions from Israeli intelligence officers posing as Sicilian dons. Abbas then gathered a team to attack the cruise ship. The team was told to make it bad, to show the world what lay in store for other unsuspecting citizens if Palestinian demands were not met. As the world knows, the group picked on an elderly American Jewish man in a wheelchair, killed him, and threw his body overboard. They made their point. But for Israel it was the best kind of anti-Palestinian propaganda. ...
