WikiLeaks: Hillary Clinton knew Saudi, Qatar were funding ISIS – but
still took their money for Foundation

21st Century Wire

NOVEMBER 4, 2016

This should be the biggest revelation yet from WikiLeaks already epic
email trove. Will the US media cover this story?

Last night, in an RT Exclusive interview conducted by award-winning
filmmaker John Pilger, WikiLeaks editor and founder Julian Assange
described what he believes is "the most significant email in the whole
collection."

WikiLeaks reveals a 2014 email where the outgoing Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton and John Podesta, then advisor to President Barack
Obama, discussed how Gulf states Saudi Arabia and Qatar, "are providing
clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL [Islamic State, IS,
ISIS] and other radical Sunni groups."

"While this military/para-military operation is moving forward, we need
to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring
pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are
providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other
radical Sunni groups in the region," Clinton wrote.

"This effort will be enhanced by the stepped up commitment in the
[Kurdish Regional Government]. The Qataris and Saudis will be put in a
position of balancing policy between their ongoing competition to
dominate the Sunni world and the consequences of serious U.S. pressure."

This demonstrates that the Clinton Foundation knowingly accepting
millions of dollars in ‘charitable’ donations from the same Gulf states
which both Secretary Clinton and President Obama knew were funding ISIS,
Al Nusra Front (al Qaeda in Syria) and known takfiri terrorist fighting
organizations.

In addition, the Clinton’s Foundation took money from a number of other
gulf monarchies [...]

(2) Assange: Isis and Clinton Foundation are both funded by Saudi Arabia
and Qatar

Julian Assange: Isis and Clinton Foundation are both funded by Saudi
Arabia and Qatar

‘This is the most significant email in the whole collection’

Wealthy officials from Qatar and Saudi Arabia who donated money to
Hillary Clinton’s charitable foundation also provided financial support
to Isis, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has claimed.

In an extended interview at the Ecuadorian embassy in London with
documentary maker John Pilger for RT, Mr Assange said the same Saudi and
Qatari officials could be seen to be supporting both the Clinton
Foundation – founded by Mrs Clinton’s husband Bill – and funding the
activities of Isis.

Mr Pilger asked if Mr Assange believed that "this notorious jihadist
group, called Isil or Isis, is created largely with money from people
who are giving money to the Clinton Foundation"

"Yes," Mr Assange replied.

The WikiLeaks founder pointed to an email exchange between presidential
hopeful Ms Clinton and her campaign manager John Podesta, leaked by his
organisation last month, which he believes "is the most significant
email in the whole collection".

In the email sent on August 17 2014, Ms Clinton asked Mr Podesta, who at
that time worked under president Barack Obama, to help put "pressure" on
Qatar and Saudi Arabia regarding the countries’ alleged support for the
terrorist group Isis.

"We need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets
to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which
are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to Isil and
other radical Sunni groups in the region," Ms Clinton wrote.

Mr Assange noted the US government had never acknowledged governments of
Middle East nations had financially supported Isis, instead arguing such
support was isolated to "some rogue princes using their cut of the oil
money to do whatever they like, although the government disapproves",
according to the WikiLeaks founder.

According to the Clinton Foundation, the Saudi Arabian government has
donated between $10m (£8m) and $25million since the foundation was set
up in 1997. Last month it was reported the government of Qatar offered
to donate $1m to the foundation in celebration of Bill Clinton’s birthday.

Representatives from the Clinton Foundation have repeatedly denied
accusations Ms Clinton has solicited funds and used donations to boost
her campaign. There were no donations from Saudi Arabia while she was
acting as secretary of state between 2009 and 2013.

Mr Assange also used the interview to dismiss the prospect of a Donald
Trump victory in next week’s election, which the polls show will be close.

"My analysis is that Trump will not be permitted to win. Why do I say
that? Because he has had every establishment against him. Trump does not
have one establishment, maybe with the exception of the Evangelicals, if
you can call them an establishment.

"Banks, intelligence, arms companies, foreign money, etc are all united
behind Hillary Clinton. And the media as well. Media owners, and the
journalists themselves."

In October, Ecuador’s government confirmed it had "temporarily
restricted" Mr Assange's internet access at its London embassy, to
prevent him "meddling in the election process" in the US.

Assange: Clinton & ISIS funded by same money, Trump won’t be allowed to
win (JOHN PILGER EXCLUSIVE)

Published time: 4 Nov, 2016 05:00 Edited time: 4 Nov, 2016 16:49

In the second excerpt from the John Pilger Special, to be exclusively
broadcast by RT on Saturday, courtesy of Dartmouth Films, Julian Assange
accuses Hillary Clinton of misleading Americans about the true scope of
Islamic State’s support from Washington’s Middle East allies.

In a 2014 email made public by Assange’s WikiLeaks last month, Hillary
Clinton, who had served as secretary of state until the year before,
urges John Podesta, then an advisor to Barack Obama, to "bring pressure"
on Qatar and Saudi Arabia, "which are providing clandestine financial
and logistic support to ISIL [Islamic State, IS, ISIS] and other radical
Sunni groups."

"I think this is the most significant email in the whole collection,"
Assange, whose whistleblowing site released three tranches of
Clinton-related emails over the past year, told Pilger in an exclusive
interview, courtesy of Dartmouth Films.

"All serious analysts know, and even the US government has agreed, that
some Saudi figures have been supporting ISIS and funding ISIS, but the
dodge has always been that it is some "rogue" princes using their oil
money to do whatever they like, but actually the government disapproves.
But that email says that it is the government of Saudi Arabia, and the
government of Qatar that have been funding ISIS."

Assange and Pilger, who sat down for their 25-minute interview at the
Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where the whistleblower has been a refugee
since 2012, then talk about the conflict of interest between Clinton’s
official post, which held throughout Obama’s first term, her husband’s
nonprofit, and the Middle East officials, whose stated desire to fight
terrorism may not have been sincere.

John Pilger: The Saudis, the Qataris, the Moroccans, the Bahrainis,
particularly the first two, are giving all this money to the Clinton
Foundation, while Hillary Clinton is secretary of state, and the State
Department is approving massive arms sales, particularly Saudi Arabia.

Julian Assange: Under Hillary Clinton – and the Clinton emails reveal a
significant discussion of it – the biggest-ever arms deal in the world
was made with Saudi Arabia: more than $80 billion. During her tenure,
the total arms exports from the US doubled in dollar value.

JP: Of course, the consequence of that is that this notorious jihadist
group, called ISIL or ISIS, is created largely with money from people
who are giving money to the Clinton Foundation?

JA: Yes.

Pilger also questioned Assange over increasingly frequent accusations
from the Clinton camp, and Western media, that WikiLeaks is looking to
swing next week’s US presidential election in favor of Donald Trump –
perhaps at Russia’s behest.

But Assange dismissed the prospect of Trump, who is behind in the polls,
winning as unlikely – and not necessarily due to his standing with the
electorate.

"My analysis is that Trump would not be permitted to win. Why do I say
that? Because he has had every establishment off his side. Trump does
not have one establishment, maybe with the exception of the
Evangelicals, if you can call them an establishment," said Assange.
"Banks, intelligence, arms companies, foreign money, etc. are all united
behind Hillary Clinton. And the media as well. Media owners, and the
journalists themselves."

Clinton Ally Aided Campaign of FBI Official’s Wife

Group linked to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe donated nearly half a
million dollars to 2015 state Senate candidate

By Devlin Barrett

Updated Oct. 24, 2016 4:41 p.m. ET

The political organization of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, an
influential Democrat with longstanding ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton,
gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an official
at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who later helped oversee the
investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s email use.

Campaign finance records show Mr. McAuliffe’s political-action committee
donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe,
who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI.

The Virginia Democratic Party, over which Mr. McAuliffe exerts
considerable control, donated an additional $207,788 worth of support to
Dr. McCabe’s campaign in the form of mailers, according to the records.
That adds up to slightly more than $675,000 to her candidacy from
entities either directly under Mr. McAuliffe’s control or strongly
influenced by him. The figure represents more than a third of all the
campaign funds Dr. McCabe raised in the effort.

Mr. McAuliffe and other state party leaders recruited Dr. McCabe to run,
according to party officials. She lost the election to incumbent
Republican Dick Black.

A spokesman for the governor said he "supported Jill McCabe because he
believed she would be a good state senator. This is a customary practice
for Virginia governors… Any insinuation that his support was tied to
anything other than his desire to elect candidates who would help pass
his agenda is ridiculous."

Among political candidates that year, Dr. McCabe was the third-largest
recipient of funds from Common Good VA, the governor’s PAC, according to
campaign finance records. Dan Gecker received $781,500 from the PAC and
$214,456 from the state party for a campaign that raised $2.9 million,
according to records; and Jeremy McPike received $803,500 from the PAC
and $535,162 from the state party, raising more $3.8 million that year
for his candidacy.

The governor could recall only one meeting with Mr. McCabe—when he and
other state Democrats met with the couple on March 7, 2015, to urge Dr.
McCabe to run, according to the spokesman.

The FBI said in a statement that during his wife’s campaign Mr. McCabe
"played no role, attended no events, and did not participate in
fundraising or support of any kind. Months after the completion of her
campaign, then-Associate Deputy Director McCabe was promoted to Deputy,
where, in that position, he assumed for the first time, an oversight
role in the investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails."

FBI officials said that after that meeting with the governor in Richmond
on March 7, Mr. McCabe sought ethics advice from the bureau and followed
it, avoiding involvement with public corruption cases in Virginia, and
avoiding any campaign activity or events.

Mr. McCabe’s supervision of the Clinton email case in 2016 wasn’t seen
as a conflict or an ethics issue because his wife’s campaign was over by
then and Mr. McAuliffe wasn’t part of the email probe, officials said.

"Once I decided to run," Dr. McCabe said, "my husband had no formal role
in my campaign other than to be a supportive husband to me and our
children. As a federal official…everyone who participated in our
campaign understood and respected that he could not participate."

Mr. McCabe is a longtime FBI official who focused much of his career on
terrorism. His wife is a hospital physician who campaigned in northern
Virginia, where the couple live with their children.

The 2015 Virginia State senate race was Dr. McCabe’s first run for
office and her campaign spent $1.8 million. The race was part of Mr.
McAuliffe’s failed effort to win a Democratic majority in the Virginia
legislature, which would have given him significantly more sway in
Richmond, the state capital.

Mr. McAuliffe has been a central figure in the Clintons’ political
careers for decades. In the 1990s, he was Bill Clinton’s chief
fundraiser and he remains one of the couple’s closest allies and public
boosters. Mrs. Clinton appeared with him in northern Virginia in 2015 as
he sought to increase the number of Democrats in the state legislature.

Dr. McCabe announced her candidacy in March 2015, the same month it was
revealed that Mrs. Clinton had used a private server as secretary of
state to send and receive government emails, a disclosure that prompted
the FBI investigation.

At the time the investigation was launched in July 2015, Mr. McCabe was
running the FBI’s Washington, D.C., field office, which provided
personnel and resources to the Clinton email probe.

That investigation examined whether Mrs. Clinton’s use of private email
may have compromised national security by transmitting classified
information in an insecure system. A review of Mrs. Clinton’s emails
concluded that 110 messages contained classified information. Mrs.
Clinton has said she made a mistake but that she never sent or received
messages that were marked classified.

At the end of July 2015, Mr. McCabe was promoted to FBI headquarters and
assumed the No. 3 position at the agency. In February 2016, he became
FBI Director James Comey’s second-in-command.

As deputy director, Mr. McCabe was part of the executive leadership team
overseeing the Clinton email investigation, though FBI officials say any
final decisions on that probe were made by Mr. Comey, who served as a
high-ranking Justice Department official in the administration of George
W. Bush.

Mr. McAuliffe has been under investigation for months by the FBI’s
Washington field office, a probe that includes an examination of
donations made on behalf of a Chinese businessman, according to people
familiar with the matter. His lawyers have denied any wrongdoing and
said the investigation is seeking to determine if Mr. McAuliffe may have
violated a law requiring people to register as agents of a foreign entity.

It was unclear the extent to which Mr. McCabe may have recused himself
from discussions involving Mr. McAuliffe. When Mr. McCabe’s wife began
her campaign, he shied away from involvement in Virginia public
corruption cases, according to officials.

Once the campaign was over, officials said, Mr. McCabe and FBI officials
felt the potential conflict-of-interest issues ended.

(6) Assange Pilger interview not mentioned by NYT or MSM Past Week

by Peter Myers, November 6, 2016; 10.50pm eastern Australian Standard Time

I just did a Google search on "Assange" "Pilger" and specified "Past Week".

I checked the first 100 hits.

Not one "mainstream news" agency of the USA showed up. Only the
dissident media covered the Assange/Pilger interview, despite its
relevance to the Presidential Election.
